An engagement session is the easiest way to find out what it's like to be photographed together, and to walk away with photos you'll actually use: save-the-dates, your wedding website, the guest book and the frame on the mantel.
I'll help you pick a location and outfits, guide every pose, and keep it light enough that you forget the camera is there.
One session, two looks

Two looks, coordinated, never matching
Start with one everyday outfit and one that's a little dressier. Pick colors that complement each other and the location: earthy tones and greens in the Hill Country, richer jewel tones downtown. Flowing dresses, textured fabrics and comfortable shoes always photograph well.

How much is an engagement session?
An engagement session is $399. It includes a one-hour guided session at a location you choose, up to two outfit changes, and high-resolution edited images delivered in an online gallery. Prints and save-the-date cards are available on request.
We've never modeled. Will we look awkward?
Almost every couple says that before their session. I'll walk you through every pose with simple, specific direction, then give you small prompts that get you laughing and moving so the photos look like you.
Where should we take engagement photos in San Antonio?
Denman Estate Park, where the session on this page was taken, is a favorite for its Korean Pavilion and shady paths. Downtown, the Pearl and the River Walk work well for a city feel, and Hill Country towns like Boerne and Gruene are great for open fields and golden hour. I'll suggest spots based on the look you want.
What should we wear?
Pick one outfit that feels like your everyday style and one that's a little dressier. Coordinate colors without matching exactly, avoid big logos and busy patterns, and choose shoes you can walk in. Flowing dresses and textured fabrics photograph beautifully.
When should we schedule our engagement photos?
Four to eight months before the wedding gives you time to use them for save-the-dates. Sessions are usually scheduled for the last hour or two before sunset, when the light is softest.
